What is a Busy Book and Why Does Every Toddler Need One?

If you've ever handed a toddler a phone just to get five minutes of peace, you're not alone. But there's a better option...one that's screen-free, genuinely engaging, and actually good for their development. It's called a busy book, and if you haven't come across one yet, you're about to wonder how you managed without it.

What is a Busy Book?

A busy book is a handmade felt book filled with hands-on activities for young children. Each page is a different activity - lacing, buttoning, zipping, sorting, counting, or matching - all made from soft felt and fabric. There are no batteries, no screens, and no noise. Just little hands doing what they love most: exploring and figuring things out.

They're typically designed for toddlers and young children aged 2 to 5, though plenty of younger babies enjoy the textures too.
